Drywall Texturing Orlando, Florida

Specialty Texture Application

Specialty texture application is an art and just like drywall finishing and it needs to be performed by a trained drywall expert in Orlando, Florida. This is the final step before painting begins and if it’s applied incorrectly, the whole job will look like it was done by a handyman or even worse, the tile guy. Homogeneous texture done by a professional is like icing on the cake.

Below, you can find a list of common textures that we are frequently asked to apply:

Knockdown or Mini-Knockdown Texture

This is a common ceiling texture that you find in new-construction homes and houses that have had a popcorn removal performed. It is a large splattered texture that is “knocked down” with a large plastic trowel during the drying process. It can also be used to cover imperfections when skimming your walls is not in the budget

Light or Medium Orange Peel Texture

Orange peel is a common wall texture that you find in modern homes dating back to the 80’s. It is the most requested wall texture in our profession. It looks just like the outside texture of an orange and if sprayed light enough, can be a budget-friendly replacement for level 5 smooth. Keep in mind, there is a slight price difference between light and medium orange peel to due to the fact that the lighter texture requires more finishing work to the drywall before it’s applied.

Level 5 Smooth Wall Finish

Level 5 Smooth is not really a texture, but a high-end finish you’ll find in upscale homes or renovations. Keep in mind, level 5 is only achieved when finishing new drywall. If your walls or ceilings have existing drywall and require skim coats to eliminate major imperfections or texture, small and minute imperfections will most likely be noticeable upon completion and after paint. Skimming and sanding is a lower-cost alternative to replacing drywall and sanding can be a never-ending process to achieve complete and utter smoothness. However, to the naked eye, your surfaces will look completely smooth if skimming is required instead of starting with new drywall.
